What Women Want?

On the face of it this video is hilarious – and for many of us, recognisable even in some of the minute details – except for one or two things. The “hero” is a victim wallowing in his victimhood in a world of negative stereotypes. Thinking with his dick ( – as Robin Williams said, “God gave men both a penis and a brain, but unfortunately not enough blood supply to run both at the same time”) and failing to take responsibility – and admit agency – for the situation in which he finds himself. But of course we all fail to do these things. Especially almost all of us succumb to the temptation, and the cultural imperative, to “settle down” and there can be great tragedy in that, including the loss of brain matter or at least an ability to think:

“The mobile larval form [of the sea-squirt] has a brain-like ganglion that receives information about the surrounding environment. As an adult, the sea-squirt attaches itself to some stationary object and then digests most of its own brain.”
- Nick Papadakis

Here it is. Yes, it actually is hilarious:

Thinking laterally for a moment, Sir Roger noted that the makers of this fine film were a group called “JoHo”. Could this be a secretly coded allegory of John Howard’s political career? Watch it again and see what Sir Roger saw…
