Harden My Heart
… just because this popped into Sir Roger’s universe again today … and because the name of the band, Quarterflash, is said to be an Australian slang reference to immigrants who were once thought to be a quarter flash and three quarters foolish. (Clearly this is not true. Anyone who wants to come to this country cannot be called a fool.)
Which for some reason reminded Sir Roger of Pat Benatar with whom he was in love in the early 80s but which passionate state, in his modesty and sense of propriety, he steadfastly restrained himself from declaring to the fiery object of his affections, preferring to suffer (be still my aching heart) in anguished silence in order to allow the sultry songstress to grow to the full height of her abilities without feeling distracted by his infatuation.
