George Polishes his Turds Legacy

Spider Eggs Hatch In Bush’s Brain

“… scurrying mass of crab spiders emerged from his mouth and crawled down his face … “

Vice Presidential Handlers Lure Cheney Into Traveling Crate

“… If we break a rabbit’s legs and throw it in there, he will eventually go in to finish it off …”

But seriously…

Here’s George admitting he personally authorised torture:

Note the Fox guy moving as swiflty as possible from “torture” to “enhanced interrogation”, or “rough stuff”. “Enhanced” is good, right? And “rough stuff” is, what, just robust play, right? Whatever it is, according to George, it’s what “professionals” do and if you criticise it it’s “getting carried away”, it’s criticising government professionals.

Check out what George says at about 6:25. We listened over and over to make sure:

“Everything this administration did had a, you know, illegal basis to it, otherwise we would not have done it.”

George is sure they got good information through torture that saved Amurrcan lives. Not according to a former Special Operations interrogator who worked in Iraq in 2006 and refused to torture because he found American torture techniques ineffective and dangerous. “Torture and abuse cost American lives,” he writes:

I learned in Iraq that the No. 1 reason foreign fighters flocked there to fight were the abuses carried out at Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo. Our policy of torture was directly and swiftly recruiting fighters for al-Qaeda in Iraq. … It’s no exaggeration to say that at least half of our losses and casualties in that country have come at the hands of foreigners who joined the fray because of our program of detainee abuse. The number of U.S. soldiers who have died because of our torture policy will never be definitively known, but it is fair to say that it is close to the number of lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001.

Here he is on The Daily Show:

George keeps insisting that his legacy is that America didn’t experience another attack on US soil. Shit, man, we tap-danced every morning between 0800 and 0805 and sacrificed a bunny rabbit at midnight every full moon and Australia wasn’t attacked either! Where’s our testimonial?

Anyway, it’s a joy to watch George struggling to polish his legacy turds.
