when you know you’re confronted by a pile of shit – politicians’ lies, corporate propaganda and media trivia for example – it’s refreshing when there’s someone who has the guts and the intellect to name it for what it is

John Howard is against a Bill of Rights and that’s enough for us. The little shit has always been so wrong that anything he is against is certain to be right

It was, inevitably, never a question of if but of when Barack Obama would buckle and capitulate to the power machinery of the Washington political and military establishments. Sadly, the answer is a shockingly short time.
Mad. They’ve gone mad. Quite mad.
my hopes have leapt in the last few days. There is a new spirit abroad in the US of, not quite forgiveness, perhaps, but of, I don’t know, overlooking crimes for the greater good.
The concept of “putting the past behind us” and “focusing on the future”, using our energies on “fixing the country” rather than on “grudges” is all smoke and mirrors and spin designed to get the criminals – people who can on the evidence be prosecuted for breaking the law – who happen to be politicians, apparatchiks or well-connected politically – off the hook.
What are we going to do with our terror laws now that terrorism no longer exists?
