Shock Discovery: How Sir Roger Learnt the Facts of Life
Many years ago, when “Sir” Roger was merely “The Hon.” Roger Migently, before he was even 18 – on the verge, as they say – his father, “Lord” Roger Migently, sat him down for “a bit of a chat” to explain the facts of life. Imagine Sir Roger’s astonishment this week when, rummaging in the attic, he discovered that his father had recorded the entire event on a primitive, hidden sound-and-image-recording device!
After a cup of tea, a lie down and a stiff brandy, Sir Roger has resolved, despite his discomfort, to share these images and sounds in the hope that others will realise how easy it can be for a decent parent to break the news to his son without causing psychological harm. The advice which one’s father gave one that day has stood one in good stead for one’s entire adult life. May it do the same for you, dear viewer!
