$117 a Barrel

Rupert Murdoch’s dream of cheap petrol may have to wait just a little longer before becoming a reality. In the days leading up to the Iraq invasion, Murdoch expressed his support for the invasion on the basis that oil prices would plunge from the astronomical $30 a barrel or so.
“The greatest thing to come of [invading Iraq]…would be $US20 a barrel for oil.â€
At which point he swung his massive global empire behind George’s Folly. His manipulation of the American people enabled George Bush to take his excursion into Iraq and kill millions of people. And so Rupert Murdoch, as much as anyone, is personally responsible for the price of oil rising this week to $117 a barrel.
And still rising vertically.
